This chapter used the word agency to refer to the actions and effects of human actors. (pg. 140) Social entrepreneurship represents agency when entrepreneurs find innovative and sustainable approaches to create change and improve our society and environment. A networked economy is a combination of individuals and groups interacting to benefit the community overall. However, when living in a highly networked economy a lot of inequality surfaces in our environment and society. Social entrepreneurs recognize these problems and injustices and create solutions for these problems. Agency and social entrepreneurship correlate because social entrepreneurs act as agents for those suffering injustices. Social entrepreneurs work to fix the injustices created in society and the economy to better the environment and world.
